Tushar Baliram Jadhav
Tushar Jadhav (b. 1990, Maharashtra, India) is a contemporary visual artist whose practice is deeply rooted in Indian philosophy, mythology, and cultural symbolism. Born into a farming family in rural Maharashtra, his artistic vision has been profoundly shaped by the rhythms of village life, traditional agricultural practices, and the spiritual significance of animals within Indian culture. His work investigates the Indian Bull (Nandi) as a timeless symbol of strength, devotion, endurance, fertility, and the interconnectedness of humanity with nature. Rather than depicting the bull as merely a religious icon, Jadhav reinterprets it as a contemporary metaphor for India's evolving cultural identity. His paintings combine figurative realism with abstraction, sacred geometry, symbolic motifs, layered textures, and expressive brushwork to create visual narratives that connect ancient traditions with contemporary thought. Working primarily in acrylic, oil, charcoal, and mixed media on canvas.
